Data communication medium  Some type of connection is required to exchange data between the receiving and sending computers. This connection is usually called a channel. The various methods used to implement channels are network media. Eg – common telephone lines, microwave systems, fibre optic cables, coaxial cables, satellite communication systems etc. The amount of data flow depends on the width of the channel. If the width of the channel is more, more data can be sent through it simultaneously. Wired  Data can be exchanged between the sending and receiving computers through various types of cables.
