Virtual Reality
1961 Morton L. Heilig's first virtual reality debut with a device called the Sensorama stimulator. However, computers had nothing to do with this technology. Virtual reality is not real, but science-based imagination that creates the illusion of reality. At the center of this world is a highly dynamic specialized microprocessor known as the Reality Engine. It requires a computer with high processing quality to use it. It is based on computer technology and simulation theory. One can only read or watch an event on TV or in a book, one cannot actively engage with that event. But in reality it is hypothetically possible. Much like video games, where it is possible to exercise one's imagination within the main program. It is also possible to travel to the depths of the Pacific Ocean, if you wish to see giant dinosaurs. Everything we see around us is three-dimensional and colorful. The help of two three-dimensional glasses is taken to reveal the three-dimensional reality in the fictional world. One has a red color filter and the other has a blue color filter. The image, captured by a computer, is visualized through two red and blue color filters. The visual brain then recombines the two superimposed images to produce a three-dimensional image of the object.
Impact of virtual reality in day to day life
1. Military: Army, Navy and Air Force mainly use virtual reality for their training. In this case flight simulation, battlefield simulation, vehicle simulation or virtual camping are used. Such training is especially useful in improving the skills of army personnel. Virtual reality simulations make them adept at perceiving and coping with real situations without risking death or serious injury. In addition, simulations are also used for training to deal with battlefield trauma. Flight simulators are used for training before actual flying and for training in flying in special situations.
2. Medical field: Virtual reality is used for prototype surgical training. Moreover, virtual reality is used in nursing education, therapy training, various mental diseases such as fear of heights, fear of flying, autism etc.
3. In education field: Virtual reality is used to create real conditions for teaching and learning. The advantage here is that a three-dimensional array can help groups of students deal with different situations, gain knowledge about the solar system, or learn to track a comet or other cosmic object.
4. In entertainment: In entertainment, simulations are used in 3D movies or virtual theme parks.
5. In fashion: Virtual reality is used in the field of fashion such as clothing design. Sometimes virtual fashion shows create surreal situations.
6. Heritage Display: Virtual reality is used to display heritage or historical content or places. In that case historical context is created using simulation.
Recent trends of information and communication technology (Contemporary trends of ICT):
The technology through which information can be collected quickly, stored, modernized, managed and distributed as needed is called information and communication technology. The technology used to reach the information to the recipient like telecommunication, computer network, internet etc. is related to information and communication technology. Through the use of this technology, information can be exchanged quickly, cheaply and accurately. Today's world has become highly dependent on information technology. In this era of information and communication technology, the computer has established its seat as a supporting force in all aspects of social life by its own power. Through information and communication technology, the expansion of communication system is also taking place in a big way. People's thoughts, needs, habits and trends are changing with it. It is now a proven fact that people in all developed and least developed countries of the world want easy access to information and communication media. That is why it appears that the focus of product and technology development has now spread to Japan, China, and India in Asia.
One thing that is well understood from the recent upheaval in the field of information and communication technology is that the trend has changed a lot with the increase in the number of users using this technology in less than a decade. This trend is definitely positive. Because people's old thoughts have changed a lot. The invention of fiber optic cable has increased the speed of information exchange immeasurably. In this technology, light rays can be sent from one place to another quickly from data to telephone calls and television signals, following the rules of total internal reflection through transparent wires made of conductive fine filaments. Nowadays, intercontinental fiber optic cables (submarine cables) are laid under the ocean to transport large amounts of data.
