What are the things to consider when buying a WiFi or broadband router for home, office, park and restaurant ?

Today we talk about What are the things to consider when buying a WiFi or broadband router for home, office, park and restaurant .I never like huge introduction about any topic . I always like very shortly introduce any-things to my viewers without any-type boring .So let's began the leanrning :-

1. Decide in advance how many devices you will use.

2. Decide how much space you need coverage.

3. Understand the structure of your home. WiFi signals become weak to penetrate the walls. That is why good coverage is not available. If you have a lot of walls in your house and you want to get coverage in the whole house, then you need a router with high power and wall penetration feature.

4. Decide what features you need in addition to the internet connection. Such as: -

4.1 3G 4G Modem Support-

There are many routers that can use the modem. Those routers have a USB port and a one port so that broadband lines can be used. But remember that the modem must have the ability to auto-connect. Not all routers support all modems. The router's website has a list of modem compatibility. Those who want to use Banglalion and QB modem will have to take a modem that is auto connected. If you are not sure, call Customer Care to find out.

4.2 ADSL Support -

In our country BTCL has telephone connection with internet connection. ADSL router is required for BTCL connection.

4.3 USB connection-

If you have a USB connection to the router, you can host a local FTP server. This means that all the devices connected to the router will be able to exchange data with each other.

4.4 Download Manager -

If you are a heavy downloader and want to download even if you are not at home, then buy Download Manager Enabled Router. You can download without PC by connecting USB storage.

4.5 Streaming -

You have a smart TV in your home. Now you want to watch movies directly from PC. In that case you can easily get this facility from the router. Router of at least 300 Mbps is recommended for better service.

4.6 GHz band -

Currently almost all wireless devices operate in the E 2.4 GHz band. For this reason, there is a problem in streaming due to frequency jamming. If you are streaming at home on Smart TV, PS4, etc., then the 5 GHz band will give you much better support. To use the 5 GHz band, both routers and WiFi devices must have 5 GHz support. It provides strong networks over short distances.

4.7 Cloud Support -

You can also control the router from outside the home.

4.8 VPN Support -

Suppose your home is in Mirpur. You have hosted a file server on your home private IP. Now you want your server to be accessed from your friend Gulshan. Usually this is not possible. But it is possible to do this with a VPN supported router.

4.9 Portability -

There are some routers that can use mobile SIM. The device has a battery that can be used to charge a router outside the home.

5. Your budget will depend on the above features. The more features, the more the budget will increase.

Which brand of router to buy?

Here are some things to keep in mind:

6.1 Ask which routers your ISP supports.

6.2 If you don't have any choice, take the brand that ISP asks you to take. This will allow them to easily configure.

6.3 If the ISP asks you to buy any router, then buy a router according to your budget.

6.4 Brand Priority - Xiaomi, Cisco,Netgear, Asus, TP Link, D Link, Tenda etc.

Which model will you choose if you select the brand? Take all the features you need in the model. Your budget will play a big role here. Note the points from 1 to 4 and then match them to see if you can get them in that model.

7.1 For internet connection only: 1300 to 2000 square feet high powered router for home. E.g. TP Link        TL-WR841HP. 1000 to 1300 TP Link TL-WR841N. 800 to 1000 TP Link TL-WR740N.

(The      models are just an example to give an idea. You can buy any other brand.)

7.2 3G / 4G Router - TP Link TL-MR3420

7.3 ADSL Router - TP Link TD-W8901N; TP Link TD-W8151N

7.4 Router with 6.4 USB ports - TP LINK TL-WR842ND; Netgear JNR3210

7.5 Router with Download Manager - ASUS RT-N66U

7.6 Streaming Router - Netgear WNDR4500;

7.7 GHz Enabled Router - TP Link Archer C5

7.8 Cloud Supported Router - Dlink DIR-605L

7.9 VPN Supported Router - Cisco RV042

7.10 Portable Router - TP Link M5350; TP Link TL MR3020

What to do after buying a router: -

8.1 Place the router in a place where the coverage is just right. The more open fairs you can keep, the better service you will get. Try to place it in the middle of the house. It will get the network in equal proportions all around.

8.2 Configure properly. If you can't do it yourself, tell the ISP or use YouTube.

8.3 Give regular firmware updates.
